Stata for the Behavioral Sciences

Michael N. Mitchell

Stata for the Behavioural Sciences is a straightforward guide to fitting and interpreting common behavioural sciences models for researchers with varying degrees of experience in Stata. The book begins with an overview of descriptive and basic inferential statistics. Focusing next on one- and two-way ANOVA, the book demonstrates how you can fit models, form contrasts among groups, dissect interactions, and graph the results. It provides detailed examples that show you how to use commands such as contrast, margins, and marginsplot to evaluate any hypothesis of interest. You will also learn how to apply these commands after fitting other models – ANCOVA models, three-way ANOVA models, models for repeated measures and longitudinal data, quantile regression models, and regression models fit to complex survey data. In addition, you will find discussions of power analysis, regression diagnostics, and presentation of results.
