Since Stata 17, reporting of results in publication quality tables has hugely advanced, with off-the-shelf commands including "dtable" and "etable".

For example, you might need to calculate the time between two dates, or perhaps you plan to fit a time-series model or perform survival analysis. Dates are often coded differently by different researchers and stored differently across software packages. You might be working with standard dates and times, while your colleague prefers UTC dates and times. How do you proceed with the dataset they hand you? You are working with Stata, but your colleague might hand you a dataset created using a different software. Perhaps your data include daily dates, but you may need to work with monthly dates. How do you proceed?

You will learn how to easily create cross-tabulations and tables of summary statistics using table and dtable, as well as tables of estimation results using etable. You will also see how you can create customized tables after collecting results from any Stata command. This means your table can include summary statistics, results of standard hypothesis tests, regression results, and results of tests and fitted statistics obtained after model fitting. With the results collected from Stata commands, you will learn how to specify a table layout—what belongs on the rows and columns—and how to customize the look of the table. You can modify labels in headers, numerical formats, text alignment, cell shading, border lines, and much more. You will also learn how to export your customized tables to Word®, Excel®, PDF, LaTeX, HTML, Markdown, SMCL, and plain text.
